6 December 2007

This is the third day in the boat and nothing much is happening, everybody is just relaxed and we haven't even had one meeting  all of us together. I slept through breakfast and woke up straight to the gym. Our cabin member Salmani has been joining us to gym from the first time Siphiwe and I went there. Just to give you a small picture of Salmani, he is about 1.75m tall and he weighs about 110kg, so he is a huge man and he has troubles all the time in the gym in just getting the simplest exercise.
After gym we had lunchand I went to the library to revise some of the manuals and the Antarctic Take-Over 2007/2008 book that was given to each team to revise and familirise themselves with the other projects involved in this trip.
Since I have been on the ship I have not gone outside just indoors only, I will only go outside when we start to see some iceburgs and when the temperature goes down.
For now we have tons of movies and time to read the manuals, we are also asking bit by bit about the work we are going to do there. We have already other people and institutions willing to help besides the ones we already have. Peopl are excited and also nervous especially the ones going down for the first time.
I'm just waiting for the time of iniciation so I can see Ngwenya getting dipped hardcore i freezing waters......peace!h
